In my Emerging Tech class, I learned that technology moves on an exponetial curve .  Pascal Finette in The Future is Exponential talks about Moore’s Law. Moore’s Law noted that the number of transistors on a chip doubles every year while the costs are halved. Growth is exponential and doubles every time period so things become more effective every day.  So computing becomes extremely powerful and very small and cheap, which will make things more available to us.  At first, we may expect new tech inventions to be better than they are and are disappointed. But in fact, technology will get better and better, and the newer models will be more effective.

Tech growth will also lead to newer tech opportunities and tech advancements.  For example, when Nokia phones became obsolete when iphones were invented. Soon smartphones may become available to everyone in the world because it is so cheap.

Once something becomes digitalized, it moves on an exponential curve. So companies who change from analog to digital will be very successful and make a lot of money.  For example, other companies that did not digitalize are struggling to stay in business.  They did not anticipate the rise of Apple, Google and Amazon. They underestimated the rate of growth of Amazon, Google and Apple and did not digitalize their own business.
